In this talk, I will discuss how I went from being a cultural Jew to being a practicing Jew and how that faith system led me to activism. Though Judaism has private prayer and a personal relationship to the holy, it was the relationship I forged with other Jews and with other people that I found most inspiring.
Bio: Wendy Goldberg is a Lecturer in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Mississippi and is active in the Jewish community in Oxford. She is from Georgia but spent many years in Connecticut where she attended a Reconstructionist synagogue. Currently, she volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children and serves as the Chair of the Statewide Steering Committee for the United Campus Workers union in Mississippi (UCW-CWA chapter 3665).
