Much as we gathered on July 4, we will gather again for an outdoor picnic at UUCO. Food will be kept inside and we will eat outside. Please bring lawn chairs and some food to share. It is helpful to label food that vegan, vegetarian or if it contains nuts. Feel free to bring your pwn plates and silver ware if you would like.. Some paper plates will be provided. We again ask that people mask when you are indoors, and practice distancing while out of doors. We especially welcome families with children and hope to have conversations about how to provide for the needs of our children this fall.

Our Story for all Ages will be “We are Water Protectors. “ by Carol Lindstrom. “Inspired by the many Indigenous-led movements across North America, “We Are Water Protectors” issues an urgent rallying cry to safeguard the Earth’s water from harm and corruption―it is bold and lyrical picture book written by Carole Lindstrom and vibrantly illustrated by Michaela Goade.” A powerful documentary about the Water Protectors is available entitled “AWAKE, A DREAM FROM STANDING ROCK.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCg1DsRFyl We will share in our own simple ritual for this intergenerational service. Bring a small jar of water if you would like to add to our bowls of water. And we will affirm that life- giving water must be protected!! Everyone is invited to stay afterwards to enjoy some cold water and also some cookies!
