![]() A season of change and transition seems to happen in May and June -- so we take this Sunday to touch on how the passages and transitions of our lives transform us. Especially in a university community, graduation and all the changes that mark that accomplishment happen now. In this season, many head to new jobs and/or move to new places to live. Lots of us look back just a few months to note marriages, births, new connections, and, yes, death and loss. In our congregation some who have been youth participants or visitors may decide to become a part of our membership. Even the terms of our board members change -- and we pause to appreciate those who have served and those who are taking up new roles. "To me rites of passage through life, that's a wonderful beautiful thing!" said actor Lance Henriksen. Come and participate in this Sunday when we mark some of life's passages and transitions, the changes that touch us with both loss and opportunity, the times of our lives when we feel things that have been familiar shift and doors to next things open. Chris Schwanke (whose graduation from Ole Miss with a Ph. D. in math makes him Dr. Chris Schwanke!) and Eunice Benton, whose 71st year has seen both loss and new vistas, will lead the service. Join us!!
