Earth Day - Don Hanson - Sunday, April 16, 2023

This Sunday we will be celebrating Earth Day by acknowledging our connection to the land, the earth and the sky.  Where UUCO now sits is on Chickasaw land.  Many Chickasaw ancestors lived here. 

• Founding member Don Hanson will lead us in a guided meditation (guided imagination) honoring the earth and the sky on Chickasaw land during a time when only indigenous peoples lived here. 
• Founding member Elaine Gelbard will lead us on a brief but rich nature walk around the grounds of our very own UU Hall.
•  Founding member Dan Mattern will be Service Leader, and will share some thoughts on the intersection of land, sky, and UUCO.

To hold during the meditation, please bring a pinch of earth (soil) or a piece of sky (if you don’t bring soil).
