The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Oxford Covenant
OUR SANCTUARY asks us to:
Bring ourselves into its walls
Be present and patient
Amass dreams and hopes to share with the world
Join hands and make a community
OUR SPIRITUAL FAMILY asks us to:
Welcome newcomers into our house
Be alive to our wealth, and share it
Educate, enjoy, and be inspired by our children
Speak with sincerity, and hear the sincerity of others
Seek to forgive; seek to accept forgiveness
OUR HEARTS ask us to:
Stand on the side of love
Honor thoughts and feelings, and act from our best intentions
Share what we see and cannot see
Be mindful of truth that exceeds our knowledge
Find our place in the family of things
OUR COVENANT asks us to
Celebrate the diversity of humanity and the common values we hold
Honor the wisdom and richness of our religious tradition
Communicate directly, so what is unspoken does not lead to misunderstanding
Listen creatively to enjoy, understand, and learn.
We create and affirm this covenant as a reminder of our best intentions as we grow together as a community.
