Gaining Ground Sustainability Institute of Mississippi is a state wide organizations with local chapters (Oxford: Hill Country Chapter) dedicated to helping Mississippians make sustainable choices and promoting locally owned businesses and farmers. Each chapter hosts monthly meetings and workshops.
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons, and their families and friends, through support in coping with an adverse society, education to enlighten an ill- informed Public, and advocacy to end discrimination & to secure equal civil rights.
University of Mississippi Gay-Straight Alliance provides advocacy and education to the Oxford and University communities, and works to increase tolerance and respect for all sexual orientations/identities. It includes Lambda, OUTLaw, Hear Me Out, and the Mississippi Safe Schools Coalition.
Ole Miss Allies is a network of informed faculty and staff who are willing to be visibly supportive of students who identify themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender, and who will work to foster a campus climate in which all students, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, may feel safe, supported, respected, and affirmed.
